Throne of Glass By Sarah Maas Book Review

Throne of Glass By Sarah Maas.

Throne of Glass is the first in a series of six books and I believe it kicks off the
series with a great start. It has magic, betrayal, emotion and much more contained
inside of the storyline.
Celaena Sardothien is an 18 year old assassin who was imprisoned in the salt
mines of Endovier. She is given the opportunity to represent the Crown Prince
Dorian Havilliard in a fight-to-the-death tournament. She has to fight under the
fake name of Lillian Gordiana who is a jewel thief from Bellhaven.
The main characters are Celaena, Chaol, Dorian, Kaltian, The King, Duke
Perrington, Cain and Nehemia. Chaol is the captain of the Guards and Prince
Dorian’s friend. Cain is the strongest and most arrogant person in the story who
enjoys mocking Celaena because of her gender and supposed lack of strength, he
is the enemy in the book.
The book takes place in the king’s castle in Adarlan and in the forest where they
run a track to keep fit. There is also a kennel area where all the dogs are kept that
Prince Dorian visits regularly.
Reading this book reminded me of another series of books called the Crown
Service written by Terah Edun, which is about a girl called Sara Fairchild that I
also recommend reading. I recommend this book for ages 12 and up because it is
complex and has a lot of violence but is not too gruesome for people of a certain
age and maturity. Throne Of Glass is a well written exciting story with a hint of
humour to keep it interesting.
