Dolphin Pods Poem

The Dolphin Pod.

Waves splash my wooden boat

I gaze upon the ocean blue.

Dolphin pods comes up to breathe.

In dolphin tongue they say to me.

Go away and leave the ocean be.

But I stay not just in spite.

But also so I can get a bite.

As I reel in my rod.

Surprise, surprise here comes the Pod.

In dolphin song they sing to me.

Go and give the ocean peace.

But again I stay not to fight.

But only to sleep overnight.

Safe Cycling Investigation Report

Safe Cycling Skills - A statistical investigation

Question: Are Karoro School senior students safe cyclists on the roads?

Recently Room One students participated in a safe cycling skills program facilitated by the New
Zealand Police.

Students learned about the correct way to wear their bicycle helmet. Helmets need to be tightened
properly and the front of the helmet needed to be two fingers above the eyebrows.

The second session involved a skills based session on the court.
Students had to look back before they signaled with their arm and look back after they signaled. Then they had to go in between two
rows of cones and look back halfway through and tell Ms Kemp what picture she was holding up.

Following the court session students participated in a road circuit skills session. There were people
placed around the circuit and marks were given for using the following skills: look back before and after
they signaled, using the right hands to signal, holding up their right hands to signal that they are about to
stop and checking a parked car before passing and being able to balance properly.

I did not go on the road circuit because I am not confident with my balance. One of the collated graphs
showed these results.  I think that this shows that people were much better the second round because
they knew where they were going.
